AAC Core Word Supports for Staff: Full Year Guide
Do you have a student or many who use AAC but you're not sure where to start?
Not only is it a long process in getting an AAC device for your student, but now you have the even longer journey of teaching AAC.
Rarely does a student start using the device independently as soon as it is received. So you are tasked with teaching language via AAC to the student, training the classroom staff, and trying to ensure carryover throughout the day.
Unfortunately, device abandonment is a real problem that can leave you and the student feeling frustrated, doubtful, and defeated about the AAC learning process.
I know you want the best for your AAC learners. You assume they have potential for language growth, and you want them to enjoy using their device for communication.
I have had the opportunity to implement AAC and AT in the classroom, and I want to help you too. That is why I created this guide, which provides a year's worth of 48 functional core word implementation supports, including:
3 different core/fringe boards, 20 reinforcer pictures & editable board
48 core word badge Inserts (color-coded & editable)
Core word of the week signs
12 core word monthly calendar planners with editable templates and the option to insert device-specific symbols
48 Data tracking wristbands
AAC self-assessment for staff trainings
Bonus: wallpaper reminders for smart phone, watch and tablets

Important note: Software owners of the language programs on AAC devices have strict policies and require licensing agreements for sellers to use their symbols in paid resources. I have included symbols for you to use, but they may not match your student's device. Thus, you will need to get pictures of the device symbols in order to include them in this resource. Instructions on how to insert the symbols are included.
If you purchase this guide, and find it was not as described, please email me at venita@speechiesideup.com and I will personally assist you. I want to ensure that you are happy with your purchase and find this resource useful for your team!
AAC learning can be challenging, but it doesn’t have to be. Together, we can strive to prevent device abandonment!
