Listen to the podcast here

On this episode, I am joined by Lindsay Petersen. Lindsay is a speech-language pathologist in Philadelphia. She specializes in working with children with hearing loss and has been supporting students for over 12 years. She also teaches Aural Rehabilitation/Habilitation in the Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate program at LaSalle University.

Topics/Questions:

  1. The shift to virtual learning: What challenges/considerations do SLPs need to keep in mind when working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing?

  2. How can SLPs promote opportunities for self-advocacy for children who are deaf or hard of hearing and working through communication breakdowns?

  3. How has the shift from on-site learning to teleservices required increased daily parent participation?

  4. Can you share some creative and fun therapy ideas to use through teleservices while continuing to address auditory, speech, and language goals?
