112: The One About Routine-Based Intervention & Teletherapy in El

Listen to the podcast here

On this episode I am joined by Katie Sterbenz, a speech-language pathologist and owner of Talking Littles. Katie strongly believes in the idea that speech and language therapy should be family centered and take place in the child’s natural environment for optimal generalization of skills. She loves being able to affirm what parents and caregivers are already doing while also providing them with new ideas and tools to empower them to help their little one improve language abilities.

Topics/Questions:

  1. Can you talk about the early stages of play and what those look like?

  2. How would define routine based intervention and why is it important?

  3. How does using song in EI help children development speech and language skills?

  4. What are some challenges and successes you’ve experienced with teletherapy for EI?
