Listen to the podcast here
In this episode, I am joined by Allie Szczecinski, a special education teacher with a focus on behavior management. For over 9 years in the classroom, she taught exclusively in self-contained settings in Chicago and the surrounding urban areas. She is passionate about serving children with Emotional disabilities, as she believes they're often very misunderstood. Equitable behavior plans and effective classroom management became her passion projects! She explains that “There is probably a child in every classroom and on your caseload that has experienced trauma just based on statistics.” That is one of the reasons SLPs should be aware of trauma-informed practice.
