89: The One About Entrepreneurship with Quintina Briscoe

Listen to the podcast here.

Today I am joined by Quintina Briscoe founder and CEO of the Pediatric Speech Lab

Quintina is the CEO and founder of a tele-therapeutic pediatric speech and language clinic as well as a newly developed app, both named, Pediatric Speech Lab. Quintina is a Speech-Language graduate of the University of D.C. and Howard University. Quintina has traveled the world for outreach in places such as Dominican Republic and Thailand.

The Pediatric Speech Lab is a speech and hearing clinic ran out of Quintina’s home to provide both in-person and tele-therapeutic services to children. Their mission is to reach all of its clients who struggle with language, fluency, comprehension and voice disorders, who are in rural areas and clients who are not reachable due to the shortage of individuals in the field of Speech Pathology.

Topics/Questions:

  1. SLPs don’t usually take courses on entrepreneurship. How did you find resources to start your private practice and what challenges have you faced?
  2. How are you using teletherapy to reach clients in rural areas?
  3. What are your go-to resources for early intervention and autism?
  4. You created an app call the Pediatric Speech Lab app for kids with speech and language delays. That’s amazing! Why did you create the app and how does it help you clients? How did you even find resources to get an app designed?

Getting To Know You:

  1. Do you have any good stories or therapy fails you want to share?
  2. What are 3 things you can’t work without?
  3. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
  4. What is a piece of advice you would tell your younger self?
