75: The One About Providing Therapy To Children Abroad

Today is a first forthe Speechie Side Up podcast. It is the first time I am interviewing two SLPsat once. Not to mention, they are joining me all the way from Zambia insouthern Africa!
Lauren Svymbersky,M.A. CCC-SLP, Director of Education
Lauren is an ASHAcertified Speech Language Pathologist, graduating with her Bachelors Degree inSpeech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in2011 and her Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Northern IllinoisUniversity two years later. During her time at NIU, she found her passion forworking with children and adults with significant language disorders. She spenttwo years working in Champaign, IL as the Speech Language Pathologist on theFunctional and Essential Skills classrooms multi-disciplinary team. She joinedSpecial Hope Network in November of 2015 and continues to be a valued member ofthe SHN team.
Jessica Cramer, M.A.CCC-SLP, Speech-Language Pathologist
Jessica is an ASHA certified SLP, graduating with both her bachelors and master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Northern Iowa. During Jessica’s time at UNI, Jessica took a class on Language, Literacy, and Poverty and subsequently went on a mission trip to Guatemala City, Guatemala. It was there she developed a passion for serving children and families in this special patient population, and through a divine Google search found Special Hope Network. Jessica loves to see her clients gain ACCESS to the world around them through communication! Jessica started working with Special Hope Network in August 2018 and plans on continuing her service here until God calls her elsewhere!
